Libra; Rare French zodiac pendant, double sided, 18K
So, are you a Libra with blood type A RH minus? Or just a lover of fantastic design and symbolism? Then this rare pendant is definitely for you!
This stunning 18K yellow gold pendant is an original creation by Edmond Henri Becker (1871-1971), one of France’s most renowned jewelers from the Art Deco era. He is known for his sculptural designs and iconic Olympic medals for the 1924 Paris Games.
This pendant is a rare example of Beckers Zodiac design which beautifully combines astrological and medical symbolism with its prominent Libra motif to one side and the Caduceus motif, featuring a staff entwined by two snakes, which traditionally represents medicine, healing, and balance, to the other.
On one side, the Libra zodiac symbol is depicted, reflecting themes of justice, harmony, and balance. The reverse side shows the snake and the wording “Groupe Sanguin A RH-" on a background of rays. It also has an engraving with the initials MB (can be buffed out).
Signed by Becker and stamped with the 18K gold eagle hallmark, this pendant showcases intricate high-relief detailing and is a true testament to Becker’s craftsmanship. It is a rare piece that blends art and symbolism in a way that is both timeless and meaningful.
