Long Antique French chain with Fabulous Enamel clasp, 18K
This is a particularly beautiful example of the highly scarce and sought-after Enamel wedding clasps from the Normandy Region of France from the late Georgian / Early Victorian era. And this one is on its - most likely - original chain, too!
The clasp features six facets all decorated and engraved, and adorned with enameled motives. It has next to no enamel loss and no dents which are quite unusual for a more than 150-year-old piece. The motives are birds, flowers, and several pansies used as a word play on the French word for pansy (pensée) which also means "think" as in "think of me".
