Scarlet Sparkle: Antique 18K Gold, Garnet & Diamond Ring

Oh, this one is a beauty! A deep wine-red garnet surrounded by a really sparkly halo of antique diamonds, all set into substantial 18K gold covered with the most wonderful hand-engraved scrolling and foliate details. This is a larger size that comes with complimentary resizing down. Just state your size and expect two weeks before shipping.

The diamonds are beautifully irregular old cuts, each doing its own little thing with the light, which gives the ring an almost flickering sparkle. The garnet was chosen and set by my jeweler to replace the original, broken opal, and I have to say, the rich red works rather spectacularly with all that diamond sparkle.

The goldwork is especially lovely up close, with hand engraved curls, beautifully hand-engraved scrollwork and foliate details running over the shoulders. There is something wonderfully extravagant about the amount of decoration packed into this relatively compact ring.

A French owl import mark can be found on the very back section of the shank, which appears to have been replaced making the shank thick and sturdy and ready for its next decade.
