Moonstone Target Ring, 18K

A French antique halo ring in 18 karat rosey-toned gold complemented with a moonstone cabochon.  - Metal: 18K antique rosey-toned gold, French hallmarks Center stone: Milky white moonstone cabochon, later replacement Halo: Rubies and mixed old cut diamonds, alternating Ring size: 7.75 US / 56.5 EU, resizable Halo diameter: 16mm Weight: 4.60 grams Origin: French, c. 1880s Condition: Great condition - Not the bright pink of modern rose gold, but that deeper, warmer antique tone you only find in 19th century French gold. Hallmarked on the outside of the shank, as French makers did. - The halo is a continuous circle of alternating rubies and old cut diamonds. The rubies are vivid and saturated, the diamonds a pleasing mix of old cuts with that soft, warm sparkle characteristic of the period. Together they make a bold, confident ring.

The center stone is a new replacement, a milky white moonstone with a quiet pearlescent shimmer just beneath the surface that gives it its own kind of life in the light. It sits well in the setting.
