Moody Georgian Horseshoe pendant, diamonds and paste
A little Georgian horseshoe - made to carry a bit of good fortune with you.
Originally a small brooch, this charming piece has been given a new life as a pendant, with a 14K gold bail added by my jeweller. The horseshoe is set with five foil-backed green paste stones, surrounding a pear-shaped central diamond and three smaller diamonds tucked into the silver setting.
The horseshoe had long been associated with luck and protection. So this is rather lovely talisman that have travelled a long way up till this day.
The green paste has all the character of old glass, with subtle variations and intriguing inclusions that give the stones their wonderfully appearance.
