Little Monsters, Old French chain extenders, silver (drop-down for price)
Super rare! How cool are these little monster chain extenders? They come from the same broken watch chain and are now ready to make a proper entrance in this decade.
Old pieces, sourced in France, crafted in silver with tiny red glass eyes. The heads are shaped as small mythical creatures, somewhere between griffins and dragons, with a strong, slightly fierce expression. Creatures like these were traditionally seen as guardians of valuables, symbols of strength, vigilance and protection.
They carry that slightly eerie presence typical of the late 1800s, where jewellery was not made to be cute, but to have character, edge, and a bit of attitude. And they are so slinky in movement, almost alive when handled.
All links are in nice shape and move beautifully. The eyes show some wear, scratches and nicks, adding to their age and character.
Please note they have loops at both ends, so they are best used with a chain that has clasps on both ends, like a watch chain or similar.
