A Brooch Became a Ring. And Nobody is Sad About It. 18K

Some brooches are just rings in denial.

This French brooch, likely Victorian, spent years being pinned to lapels before finally becoming what it always wanted to be. Thirteen old cut diamonds set in 18K yellow and white gold, newly mounted on an old wedding band and turned sideways, just to make a point. Notice also the interesting shank, its almost horseshoe shaped and the band is flat adding a modern twist to the old.

The east-west navette is not a trend. It is just what happens when a brooch finally gets its way. The mixed old cuts, every one a little different, catch light the way modern stones simply do not. Characterful, sparkly and quietly brilliant.
